Visa is not required for stay up to 90 days in Costa Rica for citizens from the following countries: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece (Hellenic), Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, United States and Uruguay.
Visa is not required for stay up to 30 days in Costa Rica for citizens from the following countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Chile, Dominica, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Iceland, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Taiwan, Turkey, Vatican and Venezuela.
Visa consular required
Nationals of the following countries can stay 30 days in Costa Rica with a consular visa, which must obtain from a Costa Rican embassy or consulate before the trip: Andorra, Belarus, Colombia (do not need if you have a valid visa to USA), Cyprus, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Lithuania, Malaysia, Malta, Nicaragua, Peru, Slovenia, Thailand and Zimbabwe.
Visa restricted and consulted
For citizens of countries not listed in previous visa is restricted and consulted with Dirección General de Migración y Extranjería.
